Villivakkam has delivered a decisive mandate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Adhav Arjuna securing a commanding victory.

With counting completed across all 19 rounds, Adhav Arjuna polled 66,445 votes, defeating DMK candidate Karthik Mohan, who secured 49,143 votes. AIADMK’s S R Vijayakumar finished third with 19,338 votes.

This emphatic win reflects the growing trust placed by voters in TVK’s leadership and strategic direction, particularly in key urban constituencies like Villivakkam.

Strategist Turned Strong Leader

Adhav Arjuna, who serves as the General Secretary for Election Campaign Management in TVK, has been a central figure behind the party’s 2026 electoral strategy.

Appointed by party president Vijay in January 2025, Arjuna played a crucial role in designing and executing the party’s campaign structure across Tamil Nadu.

His victory in Villivakkam is not just electoral success, but also recognition of his leadership, planning, and grassroots connect.

Urban Mandate for Change

Villivakkam, a key residential–industrial constituency in north-central Chennai, has long been shaped by working-class communities, railway influence, and emerging middle-class populations.

The 2026 results indicate a clear shift in voter sentiment, with people favoring new leadership and governance approaches aligned with modern urban aspirations.

Breaking Past Trends

Historically, the constituency had been a stronghold of established parties. In 2021, DMK’s A Vetriazhagan won with 76,127 votes, while in 2016, DMK’s B Ranganathan secured victory with 65,972 votes.

Adhav Arjuna’s win marks a significant political turnaround, breaking previous patterns and establishing TVK’s presence in a key urban seat.

Consistent Voter Engagement

Villivakkam recorded steady voter participation, reflecting strong democratic engagement and awareness among its electorate.

The constituency continues to evolve alongside Chennai’s transition from an industrial base to a service-driven economy, making it a critical indicator of urban political trends.

A Key Pillar in TVK’s Rise

As one of the top strategists in the party, Adhav Arjuna’s victory strengthens TVK’s leadership structure and reinforces its credibility among voters.

This result not only boosts the party’s overall performance but also signals the emergence of a new generation of leadership in Tamil Nadu politics.

Villivakkam’s verdict is clear — strategic leadership, strong vision, and grassroots connection have delivered a powerful mandate for TVK.
